Finally, desperate Aussies have brand new solar solution to tackle skyrocketing energy costs

Over half a million Queenslanders have already copped on to the benefits of investing in Solar panels. It’s no secret that inflation at 5.1% and rising it’s hurting everyday Aussies. With all of the recent talk about the energy crisis, coal powered stations being shut down and gas supply shortages, Queenslanders are getting on board with the future of energy production, making their own.

The good news is, the cost of solar panels have fallen dramatically over the last decade – in fact, solar is considerably cheaper in QLD than in most other states and territories now so it’s perfect timing for the rest of QLD homeowners or investors to get on board.

Could you slash your energy bills? Here's how to get started...

Upgrade or Add-on a Storage Battery

Adding a battery to your current or new solar panels is an excellent option which allows you to use the electricity you have generated during the day at all times of the day.

Most people are aware of the original Telsa wall battery however now, many brands have released brand new cost effective models including LG and other cost effective brands.

Here's how it works:

QLD Solar Rebates & Incentives

There are two primary solar incentives available: Feed-in tariffs and Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs). These schemes help reduce the cost of solar and make it easier to get a return on your investment.

STCs in Queensland

STCs are part of the federal scheme which rewards customers with a form of rebate. If you install solar panels or a solar hot water system, you will receive a number of certificates that can be sold on an open market or given to your solar installer for a hefty discount on your system.

The number of STCs you will receive will depend on the systems size, as well as your location. Small-scale renewable systems that may be eligible for certificates include:

  • solar photovoltaic (PV) panels
  • wind turbines
  • hydro systems
  • solar water heaters, and
  • air source heat pumps.

Feed-In-Tariffs

Your solar panels will often produce more electricity than what you can use. When this happens, the excess power generated by your panels goes to the shared electricity grid. In exchange, customers receive a ‘feed-in tariff’ – a small rebate of a few cents per kWh of electricity exported.
